Week 35: Job insurance vs. starting new job

Job search formerly on my own (Gerd) vs. NewPlacement-Coaching (Chris).

Previously self-directed: Preparing for the new job requires careful preparation due to the many external interfaces. Before starting, Gerd is already invited to a strategy conference. Together with the NewPlacement-Coach, the topics are prepared with links to the previous career. For many questions, the historical background is still missing for an own assessment. Here again the wisdom "First learn, then teach" counts. The farewell in the old company is harmonious. People part without resentment.

NewPlacement-Coaching: In the first days in the new job, intensive talks are held with the two most important employees. Fears that an internal job aspirant might have been passed over do not materialize. The discussions with the other managers (5:55 method) form a good basis for the joint path and the desired success.

Our recommendations in this regard
69: At the beginning, there is a fundamental danger of going too far out on a limb despite a lack of background information and gambling away the leap of faith right at the start.
70: Even after the contract has been signed, the application process is not over. Now the internal and external interfaces must be won over.
