| Job search on your own

Week 29: New release vs. update

Job search formerly on my own (Gerd) vs. NewPlacement-Coaching (Chris).

Formerly on own initiative: A project close to home, which was put on hold some time ago, picks up again with slightly changed demand factors. The headhunter gets in touch and asks for an adapted short profile, which the coach immediately prepares. Already at the weekend, a meeting is arranged at the company for the next week, for which the NewPlacement coach prepares the success presentation.

NewPlacement-Coaching: Immediately after the separation meeting, Chris and his NewPlacement-Coach arrange to meet. There is no time for mourning, Chris writes down all the details from his work for the company over the last few weeks. Meanwhile, the coach drafts the update letter to the headhunters and then updates Chris' resume based on Chris' summary. In addition, the coach motivates Chris to use the change story to approach the 2 companies whose job offers he had previously turned down. The number 2 company at the time shows interest, but has hired an interim manager in the meantime.

Our recommendations in this regard
57: If a candidate starts a new job after a longer search period, but it may not meet his expectations in all aspects, the coach must take on more tasks in addition to the new job in further applications.
58: After separations, the focus must be quickly turned to the future. In guarantee contracts, the update is included within the defined time. In the case of success contracts up to the conclusion of the contract, an update can be concluded additionally.
