After graduating from high school and military service with parachuting training, he studied printing technology at the University of Applied Sciences for Printing in Stuttgart, graduating with a degree in engineering. Postgraduate studies in International Marketing in Reutlingen for an MBA with a stay abroad in Brazil. Career start as a trainee in the sales department of a global FMCG company. Management positions in sales and marketing in various companies and industries b2c (Coca-Cola, Seagram, Gardena, Dannemann) and b2b (Siegwerk, rou bill, WTS) up to the position of sole managing director. All stations always connected with major change processes - strategic repositioning of companies (divisions), restructuring, takeovers and reorganization. Brands and markets made successful. Necessary reorganizations up to relocation of production sites planned and successfully implemented. Involved employees and works council and took them along on the journey of realignment. Responsible for hiring and separation processes in line with the corporate culture. Training as NewPlacement-Coach by the board members Hans-Christoph Nagel and Christof Küchler. Markus Ilg is SeniorPartner and co-owner of NewPlacement AG.

Over 20 years in East Westphalia and now back in the south of the country. And also married to a Swiss woman for over 20 years and likes to be in the mountains.
