Can I switch outplacement companies during my consultations?
No. This will result in a loss of all fees.
That's why it is so important to research your options on the internet and to get to know the person who will be your consultant during your initial consultation - especially to be sure he or she is not just a salesperson. Look into your personal coach's professional background before deciding where to place your trust.
Do you use psychological testing?
NewPlacement coaching has nothing to do with lying down on a leather couch. We use psychological testing only if we consider it helpful, and only with your agreement. And when we do, we work together with experienced psychologists.
What we do is work together with you for many hours to develop your biography and arrive at a crystal clear vision of your potential.
Tests are often used to save on consultation time and to give candidates a (false) feeling of objectivity. We don't believe in that.
If recruitment agencies or potential employers do expect you to take a psychological test, we will prepare you for that.
Why doesn't NewPlacement use video training?
We offered this service for many years and if you think it's right for you, we will make it available. But often candidates become overly critical after seeing themselves on video: many people freeze up in front of a camera.
Our candidates are established managers who have already marketed themselves many times. Proven models should not be "disimproved".
However, during your preparations for telephone calls, job interviews and networking talks, we will advise you on any aspects of your self-presentation that are unclear or any incongruence in your body language you can avoid. Above all, we work with you to develop your own interview strategy that will allow you to react confidently in all situations.
What do you tell my company about me?
"My previous employer is paying for my consultations. What do you report to them?"
The successful conclusion of your consultation is the only report your former company receives. Occasionally, we may submit additional interim reports - but the content of your talks with us remain between us. Our many years of discretion have given us a good reputation in the market.
How much does it cost if I have to pay?
Just as our consultations are individualized, we also agree on our fee personally with you - but only after we get to know you and have analyzed your potential in a free consultation. The standard market rate of 20% of the previous year's gross salary is one of many reference points. Of course we also offer reasonable modular fees. It is best to discuss payments with us during your free consultation. You will have no other obligations.
Who pays for NewPlacement coaching?
Usually companies pay for NewPlacement coaching as a part of the severance agreement. We become involved after the severance decision has been reached. And although we invoice the company, it is the candidate we are committed to.
How does NewPlacement coaching differ from outplacement consulting?
Without exception our coaches have personal experience in management and severance. We see NewPlacement coaching as personal development. In our talks, we'll identify and explore with you the strengths and successes you have developed during your career.
That is the foundation we use to look for a suitable position, one that matches your personal career objectives. At NewPlacement, only senior partners provide consultation, combining their good reputation and high quality standards for you. We don't use candidate handbooks, and there are no time limits imposed by budget. We take time for you.
Of course, we can have some fun along the way while overcoming your career challenge, but in no way does this fun detract from the seriousness and professionalism of our work together. On the contrary: positive, self-confident applicants are more appealing.
What is NewPlacement's success rate?
Over many years NewPlacement has achieved a success rate of nearly 100%, all with permanent contracts.
Of course we are proud of such statistics. But in the end, they really don't mean much. They do not decide your job market prospects: you alone do that. We can evaluate your prospects after your initial, free personal consultation.
But we can definitely say that your chances on the job market are significantly better with the professional individualized support of our genuinely committed consultants than those of your rival applicants who have received little or no coaching.

Although these contacts are important, please do not rely only on them. Our support can offer you something more important: systematic and targeted job-hunting using our methodology and knowledge. With your agreement, your application is presented to our network - up to 1,000 times.
